It was finally gorgeous Spring weather here in Marin County (just north of San Francisco) and I went for a walk along the bay. There is a trail that starts at Blackie’s Pasture. Blackie was a cavalry horse. He was born in 1922 and lived for 40 years. At the age of 12 he was retired to this pasture and was visited and cared for by the whole community. In the 90’s the mayor commissioned a life-size sculpture of Blackie that is still much loved.
You can even “ride” Blackie.
There’s also a community planted garden of California Native plants and programs to help salmon and oysters.
I got to thinking about all the cool changes that have been taking place in the world. Marin County is the first county to have all the farms and dairies be organic! Our default electricity is 50% “green” sources and we have the option of paying about $5 more a month for 100% renewable electricity. I was thinking of Earth Day and I felt a great appreciation for the Blackie sculpture, the garden, the beautiful bay with views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito with all it’s sail boats and the green hills around me. Once again Earth reminded me that the best thing we can do for her on a regular basis is to appreciate her beauty, from a dramatic view to a tiny bloom in the weeds. Yes, It’s great to do big acts like donating money and time to worthy causes. But, even more important (and something that’s easier to do on a daily basis) is to focus on what’s good and beautiful here on Earth. What you focus on reinforces that reality.

Our planet is going though a large transformation with us. Though there are times when the negative show it’s face, remember that we are headed for a beautiful future here. Doubt is the Old Energy trying to drag you back. Don’t believe it. Our success is guaranteed.
