The license plate on my car ends in 000. I have never seen another car with three zeros until this week when I saw four of them. This prompted me to ask, “What’s with all the zeros?” I remembered then that I planned on spending some time with the mystical number zero since it’s is a big part of the energy of the 10-10-10 Portal. Don’t you just love it when you get cosmic reminders?

Zero is everything and nothing. It’s the fertile void, a space of infinite potential and yet nothing is manifest. Zero carries the energy of wholeness and completion. There are no sharp points or angles. There is no beginning or end. It is infinite.

In the tarot, zero is the number of the Fool. According to Angeles Arrien in her book The Tarot Handbook, The Fool represents “the principle of courage; state of no fear; ecstasy and peak experience. The Fool is the universal principle that is associated with the state of consciousness that we experience before birth and after death. In life’s experience, this state of consciousness is often labeled or experienced as being mystical, transcendent, ecstatic, and transpersonal in its nature.”

In numerology when zero is added to a number it magnifies the energy of the other number. What it adds is magical and spiritual. If you have the number ten the zero boosts the one’s energy of beginning, independence, leadership and courage. Yet, when you add 1 + 0 you get just 1, as if the 1 hasn’t been changed at all. Zero is mysterious because though no letter is associated with the number zero, it still appears when you start to add up the numbers.

Zero is also a portal, a direct link to the cosmic wisdom. It’s is an opening to the divine and mystical experience of stillness.

Cultural References:

Taoism: It symbolizes the Void; non-being.

Buddhism: It is the Void and no-thingness.

Kabbalism: Boundless; Limitless Light; the Ain.

Pathagoras (an earlier incarnation of Master Kuthumi) saw zero as perfect. Zero is the Monad, the originator and container of All.

Islamic: Zero is the Divine Essence.

On 10-10-10 we have three zeros adding their spiritual magic to the three ones. Zero brings the energy of completion to add to the one energy of new beginnings. And this brings us to the number ten which has it’s own magic. This is the number of new beginnings based on harmonious conclusions to previous activities. I don’t know about you, but I’m sure ready for that!

In the Destiny Card System*, which uses playing cards, people who’s birth card is a ten (of hearts, clubs, diamonds or spades) have completed their learning in the area represented by the suit and are ready to share their wisdom with others. I know this well, as my birth card is the ten of clubs, the Teacher Card.

I’m quite excited about the potentials that are opening on the 10-10-10 Portal. So many people have told me that they have felt like everything has been taken away and yet nothing new has come in yet. Finally, we get some new energy, new idea and new beginnings!

* The playing cards that we use were originally a divination deck like the tarot. The first book published about this was written by Olney Richmond in 1893. Richmond was the Grand Master of a secret society known as The Order of The Magi. He claims that his order was instructed, since the days of Egypt, to keep the secrets of the cards alive and protected until the proper time for their revelation to the world. I connected with my inner wisdom and asked, “What is the overlying energy of the year 2010?” The answer I got was “Authenticity and Authority”. It is a year to express and truly be our Authentic Selves and to reclaim our authority, the right to follow our own knowing and make choices based on that.

2010 is a Universal 3 year. The 3 energy is creative, imaginative, expressive and enthusiastic. The 3 must have an outlet (or 2 or 3 outlets) for this energy or it can be distracted, scattered, confused or depressed. The 3 must live in joy in order to create and to inspire others. It is a time to live life to the fullest and express your authentic self. The 3 is similar to Gemini. It is playful, creative and expressive.

2010 also carries the energies of the numbers 1 and 2, both magnified by the zeros.

The 1 energy is about new beginnings, sovereignty and leadership. You can relate it to Aries in astrology. The 1 demands that we claim our authority, to trust in our inner knowing and to claim the right to determine the course of our lives.

The energy of the number 2 is soft, gentle and patient. It is quite different from the 1 energy. It likes to work with others and values cooperation. You can relate it to the Libra energy. It values deep and intimate relationships.

So the year 2010 will be a balancing of our desire for independence with our need for connection with others. As I wrote in a previous article, “How can I create community when I can’t stand being around other people?” The reason it has been difficult to be around people is that we have not been able to be our authentic selves when we are with them. This is the year where we answer that question. It will be easier to be more social in general.

Any relationship that requires that you are anything other than your Authentic Self will be challenged. Any work or project that you do that is not fun and creative for you will be challenged. We are being called on to step up and step out, to remember who we are and to share ourselves with the world.

What does it mean to be your Authentic Self? Some of us have only been able to be our authentic selves when we are alone. Some of us have had a few places or people with whom we could be authentic. Perhaps you aren’t even sure if you know who your authentic self is. You are more grand and yet more simple than you would expect. You are much more than an ordinary human. You Authentic Self existed long before we began the Earth Experience. You are wise, loving and powerful. It’s time you started to really feel it! The mind wants to “figure it out”, define and label. You will not find your authentic self that way. It can only be felt and known.

This year will require that we step out of polarity. And that is the gift of the number 3!

In the image below the line at the bottom represents polarity. The possible meaning of each pole could be:

Good and bad
Right and wrong
Light and dark
Independence and connection/partnership
Kindness and cruelty
Do and be
Pursue and withdraw

This year we are being challenged to rise above any polarized beliefs and embrace the whole as being simply experience. Become the “third point of light” created from the integration of polarity. Feel the pulse of the sacred trinity flowing within you. Express your Authentic Self with creativity.

There’s no doubt in my mind that we are in the Age of Aquarius. I don’t have to look at the astrological chart (with a cluster of at least five planets in Aquarius as I write) or calculate the Universal Number for the 2009 (which is 11 the number associated with Uranus and Aquarius) to know we are in the Age of Aquarius. I can feel it!

I realized that I didn’t really know what an Age is or when exactly this new Age started. So I did research… (Thank God for search engines!). What I found surprised me. It seems that no one agrees on when exactly the Age of Aquarius of the other ages start! To quote Daniel Giamario, founder of Shamanic Astrology, “The question of when the Aquarian Age actually begins is a highly interesting field of inquiry, and worthy of several entire books.”

Like a wobbling top, the orientation of the Earth’s axis is slowly but continuously changing, the northern end tracing out a conical shape in a cycle of approximately 26,000 years (called a Great or Platonic Year in astrology). Polaris, the North Star, will one day be replaced by a different North Star. Just as one year has twelve months, a Platonic Year also has twelve months and each month is a Cosmic Age.

Another thing that changes is which constellation the Sun is in during the Equinoxes (the point when the Sun crosses the Equator). The position of the Sun stays in each constellation for approx. 2,150 years, precessing one degree every 72 years (although some say that this is speeding up). This period of time with the Sun in a certain constellation during the Equinixes is called a Cosmic Age and this movement through the constellations is called Precession of the Equinoxes. One full circle through all the constellations is a Platonic Year.

Signs and Constellations are not the same thing. And it is this difference between the Signs and Constellations that causes so much confusion and misunderstanding. The confusion originated when the reality of precession was forgotten in the dark ages and at that time the signs and constellations were mistakenly called the same names.  The signs describe the seasons of the year and are defined by the solstice and Equinox points. They represent a seasonal energy that is determined by our experience of the Sun at different times of the year. The zodiacal constellations are like the backdrop through which the signs move. Approximately every 26,000 years every sign will move through every constellation. Due to the nature of the precession of the equinoxes, the progression of the ages proceeds in reverse order through the zodiacal signs.

Each Age is characterized by the qualities of the constellation that the Sun is in during the Equinoxes. Since currently focus more on the equinox on around March 20th that is the most strongly felt energy, but the opposite sign (September Equinox) also influences the Age.

It is not possible to define an exact date when the Age changes. Many of the constellations overlap each other, including Pisces and Aquarius, so the Sun can be in two constellations at the same time. If you have a planet near the cusp of another sign, it is considered that it is also influenced by that other sign. This is also true for Cosmic Ages and is called the orb of influence which can be up to 800 years. The bottom line is that we are being influenced by both Pisces and Aquarius.

Since it is not possible to exactly define the beginning and end of a Cosmic Age, I am going to use rough dates, just so you get the feel of the Ages.

********************************

THE AGE of TAURUS

Roughly 4,000 B.C. to 2,000 B.C.

This was the Late Bronze Age (though in some cultures this lasted much longer). Many cultures worshiped the bull during this Age.

The great Egyptian civilization with its emphasis on agriculture (taught by Isis who is often represented with Bulls horns on her head) and new technology of building (the pyramids) echoes the influence of earthy Taurus. Both the esthetic nature of Taurus and its solidity are reflected in the beautiful art and architecture of this Age. Around 1500 B.C. in what is called the Exodus, Moses led the Jews away from Egypt and slavery. As Moses was on the mountain receiving the Tablets the people created a Golden Calf which they were worshiping. Yahweh was ready to kill them all, but Moses interceded. The Tablets were destroyed and in their place Moses brought the Ten Commandments. (God was saying, “Dudes, the Bull is so last Age!”.)

********************************

THE AGE of ARIES

Roughly 2,000 B.C. to 1 B.C.

Aries is the goat. The Jews painted the blood of the lamb on their doorways to avoid the Angel of Death. The lamb was the principal animal of sacrifice among the Jewish people. This era is known as the Iron Age, when mankind learned to fashion weapons from iron. (Aries rules the metal iron.) This Age was also characterized by its militancy and aggressive spirit. During this era Alexander the Great conquered the world, Assyria and the Greek city-states rose to power and in the latter part of the Age, militaristic Rome became the MOST powerful empire ever known.

********************************

THE AGE of PISCES

Roughly A.D 1 to A.D. 2,000

The enormous influence of Christianity changed the world during this era.. (Pisces is the sign of spiritual knowledge). The fish (symbol of Pisces) is also the symbol of Christianity. Christ called his apostles “fishers of men”. This Age is marked by sacrifice and struggles (qualities associated with Pisces). The motto of Pisces is “It is better to give than to receive”. During the Age of Pisces, there is a belief that what Spirit really wants of us is to be “in service” and to sacrifice (think of Jesus).  In many eastern religion and current metaphysical beliefs, it is the height of spirituality to be a selfless healer. Many of us have lived our lives trying to fulfill our missions.

Pisces is a water sign as symbolized by baptism in water. Also to be mentioned here is the Holy Water, available in churches, with which Christians cross themselves. Priests sprinkle Christians who accompany them with Holy Water. The pope still wears a mitre, which is his hat in the shape of a fish.

The opposite sign of Pisces is Virgo, the Virgin. We have the worship of the Virgin Mary and of course celibate priests and nuns.

Finally, a sign of divinity, of faith and also of heresy, the sign of Pisces is associated with religious conflicts and crusades. Christians have often fought against enemies under the pretense that they did not share their religious convictions. These crusades were headed by pious, faithful, well-intentioned knights, all keyed up by religious fervor. Since the Age of Pisces is not yet over, we still feel its effects: in fact, religious wars are still raging on in the world, although this phenomenon will progressively disappear as we are influenced by the Age of Aquarius.

THE AGE OF AQUARIUS

(circa A.D. 2,000 – A.D. 4,000)

The symbol of Aquarius is the Waterbearer, though it is an air sign. I think we can expect to have water be a major theme in this Age. Already we have seen water (or the lack of) bring change via hurricanes, droughts and tsunamis. I expect we will develop new technologies using water for power and healing.

Check out this car that runs on water!

Dr. Masaru Emoto has done fabulous research with water. Read an interview with Emoto at Spirit of Ma’at. (I am a regular writer for Spirit of Ma’at. They have a wonderful, free monthly E-magazine.)

Air signs are all about communication and we are certainly in the age of communication! In the Aquarian Age our communication with the divine is no longer filtered through a priest or guru, instead it is a direct and personal connection within each person.

Aquarius energy is electric (electricity) and innovative. It is an age characterized by technical progress and inventions: printing, media, medication, internal combustion engines, automobiles, airplanes, rockets, electricity, electric lights, telephones, radios, televisions, movies, photography, photocopiers, fax machines, watches, clocks, radars, telecommunications,  Aquarius expands the mysteries of innovative, unique, avant-garde, revolutionary experiences designed to maximize the evolution of consciousness.

Other qualities of Aquarius include compassion, uniqueness and collaboration. We are being called to create community with our spiritual family.

The opposite sign of Aquarius is Leo, which carries the energy of radical self-love! This is a very different energy from vanity. Real self-love means that we feel ourselves as being part of God, always loved and lovable. Bring it on, baby!

The glyph of Aquarius is the wave.

I’m not usually a political type, but I watched the Inauguration of Barack Obama. Not only did I watch it, but I started to feel excited and full of hope. I also shed some tears. You know when you were a kid and you got hurt, physically or emotionally, you could hold it all together, be cool in front of the other kids, but when you got home to mom you’d start to cry? It was like that, somehow we all survived the Bush years and now that it’s over, we can safely let the tears flow.

And I admit, I’m hooked… on Obama!

In ImagiCreation Work we always “go into the wave”. Check out Obama! And I thought I had long arms…

I really like to play with Numerology. I resonate with it. And of course, it all began with Pythagoras, who is an earlier incarnation of Master Kuthumi, who I also really like to play with!

I wrote about the energies of 2009 in an earlier post and I mentioned that it’s an 29/11/2 year (2 + 9 = 11, 1 + 1 = 2)  and that Obama’s life path number is 29/11/2, the number of the Vision, Visionary or Spiritual Messenger.

(Just for fun: LIGHT and CHANGE each add up to 11 also.)

Obama is the 44th president of the United States. 44 is a powerful Master Number. 4 vibrates with paying attention to detail and building a solid foundation for the future. In 44, that effect is doubled.

Also, 4 + 4 = 8, which brings the vibration of effective management, controlling group dynamics, building large structures and financial control. Sounds good to me!

As I’ve mentioned before, Obama is the reincarnation of Lincoln. Interestingly, the inaugural lunch was a tribute to Lincoln’s favorite foods and was served on replicas of china from the Lincoln Presidency, which was selected by Mary Todd Lincoln at the beginning of her husband’s term in office. The theme honoring Lincoln and the menu were chosen long before Obama was elected because 2009 is the 200th anniversary of the birth of Lincoln. What a wonderful “coincidence”.

Check out this cool painting by Ron English.

Obama and Lincoln morphed

Obama and Lincoln morphed

There are a lot of other fun coincidences between Lincoln and Obama. Even the regular newsies are comparing them saying they are both lanky lawyers who built their political careers in Illinois and rose rapidly to national prominence. Obama will even be sworn in using the same Bible that Lincoln did.

Another reason I like Obama is his story is similar to one in my family. My brother-in-law was born in a small village in Ghana, West Africa. He came to America on a college scholarship. He met my sister at the University of California at Davis. They fell in love, got married and their two beautiful daughters are now in college in the US. My sister and her husband both live in Africa and are working to improve the economic and humanitarian circumstances there. They are both very excited about Obama too.

Obama is also a Sirian (like me). Are you Sirian? Sirians tend to be responsible and have balanced male/female energy. Obama particularly brings in the ability to balance apposing forces and bring unity. Think back to what Lincoln achieved in uniting the US after the Civil War.

Obama’s referred to that in his inaugural speech: “For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus – and non-believers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this Earth; and because we have tasted the bitter swill of civil war and segregation, and emerged from that dark chapter stronger and more united, we cannot help but believe that the old hatreds shall someday pass; that the lines of tribe shall soon dissolve; that as the world grows smaller, our common humanity shall reveal itself; and that America must play its role in ushering in a new era of peace.”

OK, thanks for indulging me… and I will finish with one more quote from Obama’s speech. 🙂

“For the world has changed, and we must change with it.”

The Universal Number for year 2009 is the Master Number 11/2 (2+0+0+9=11, 1+1= 2). It’s the first 11-year to occur since 1910! That means that most people alive today have never experienced this event!

Any time a Master Number is prominent, energies are intensified. 2009 promises to be momentous, not just each individual, but for everyone in the world who lives by the modern calendar.

11 is the number of the Vision, Visionary or Spiritual Messenger. The number 1 by itself represents leadership and intuition, so the number 11 is two 1’s – it is a partnership of leadership and drive that is unlike any other. 11 carries a very intuitive and spiritually charged energy. This is a year to act on your intuition and wisdom, and to step into (or more into) a leadership position. 2009 is being powered by visionary & humanitarian principles of change. Change for the greater good of all.

Astrologically, the Number (11) is associated with the Planet Uranus, known as “The Great Awakener”. It’s the sudden flash of light that exposes the things that have been hidden and kept secret. We’ve certainly been seeing a lot of that in the world. In your individual life this light exposes those parts of your self that you have suppressed, your personal shadow energies. These judged and rejected energies need to be received back with love.

By the way the word light adds up to 11!
L   I  G  H T
3+9+7+8+2 = 29 (2+9 = 11)

And change:
C H  A  N G  E
3+8+1+5+7+5=29 (2+9 = 11)

Another by the way, 29/11/2 is President Elect Barack Obama’s Destiny/Life Path Number (numbers of birthday added up). He was born on 8/4/1961. 8+4+1+9+6+1=29. How cool is that!

All numbers have a higher expression and a lower expression. The higher expression of 11 is intuition, vision, spiritual communication, rapid or sudden transformation, insight, humanitarianism and balanced leadership. The lower expression of 11 is overwhelm, fear and phobias and rebellion. The challenge this year is to trust and have faith in your self. View everything from the higher vantage point of your Greater Self. It is going to be extra important to maintain contact with people who remind us of our true nature and help us stay in the higher expression of our selves.

Throughout 2009 we will continue to have influence of the Uranus/Saturn opposition that charged up the energy on election day in the US. The last time this aspect occurred was in the 60’s, and you know what happened then! I certainly do as I was living near Berkeley during that time.

This is a year of choice between the old energy/rules of Saturn and the new energy/vision of Uranus. These oppositions will continue through the summer of 2010. It’s a major theme for our time.

Saturn in Virgo affects our guts and digestive systems. Uranus in Pisces amps up the nervous energy in and around us, affecting our endocrine balance and sleep patterns. So many people, myself included have had disrupted sleep and unusual digestion. As the nerves get stimulated you can go into fear, which affects the bowels. Once again, it’s so important to stay out of the fear based mentality and connect with people who understand the new energy and can help you to sustain your higher vantage point.

Another important aspect for 2009 is that Jupiter, the planet of luck, expansion, vision and the search for truth is in electric Aquarius, which is associated with Uranus. Jupiter will stay in this placement throughout the year until the middle of January, 2010. Aquarius energy is about compassion, uniqueness, innovation, far out and futuristic thinking and inventions, and collaboration. So Jupiter’s placement in Aquarius expands the mysteries of innovative, unique, avant-garde, revolutionary experiences designed to maximize the evolution of consciousness.
And Obama has Jupiter in Aquarius in his natal chart too.

The themes for 2009 are to express your unique self, expand your vision and expect the unexpected. Another important theme this year and for the future is community. As I said before, it’s really important for us to connect with our spiritual families, those people who support our expanded vision and remind us of our true nature as a Spiritual Being having a human experience. Western culture has valued self-sufficiency above all else. This has created an environment of competition and isolation. And many Lightworkers have had difficulty receiving, preferring to give. This has left many people in a difficult situation financially. This is changing now, it must. Reach out, take a chance and and join with like minded people to support each other.
